The Council of the European Union, in its latest round of human rights sanctions, added the names of six Iranian citizens, including five judges and a hacker linked to the security institutions of the Islamic Republic, to its sanctions list.
Eid Shams, a lawyer and international affairs analyst, told Iran International that the sanctioned judges include judicial officials who have played a role in issuing sentences of death, imprisonment, and flogging against protesters, civil activists, and political prisoners.
