Mohammad Qaedi, a professor of international relations, said Saudi Arabia’s response to the Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight incident showed that Riyadh has made a distinction between its political position regarding Israel and its humanitarian assistance to passengers.
Qaedi added that this type of cooperation could create the conditions for strengthening security ties between Saudi Arabia and Israel.
Qaedi said that the UAE is also facing pressure to apply tougher standards in the hiring of pilots and flight crews, due to FlyDubai being a state-owned company.
According to him, if a possible link of this incident to Tehran is proven, it could increase pressure on the Islamic Republic at the regional and international levels, and in negotiations with the United States.
