🥚 Eggs got more expensive—and also got smaller!

The price of each tray of eggs in Tehran has reached about 480,000 tomans, meaning an increase of 80,000 tomans over two weeks.

Buyers say that despite tray pricing being set based on a 2-kilogram weight, the eggs have become smaller and lighter.

Producers attribute the price hike to higher costs and feed shortages; this while the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad says it has reported an increase in imports and the release of input materials.
