Tampa, Florida — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it concluded another round of attacks against Iran at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time on July 20.

U.S. forces targeted Iran’s military command centers, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems in order to reduce Iran’s ability to continue attacking commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The passage of commercial ships through this critical international maritime corridor continues. Since early May, CENTCOM forces have helped facilitate the transit of about 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil.

U.S. forces remain positioned and ready to hold Iran accountable because of its unjustified aggression against non-combatant mariners who are transiting through this strait freely and without hindrance.
