Ahmad Khatami, the Friday prayer imam of Tehran, said in his remarks during Friday prayers: “This is the fourth time that the United States has launched an attack in the middle of negotiations. Under such conditions, there is no way other than honorable defense, not dishonorable surrender.”

He added: “The red flags that were raised during the funeral ceremonies for the leadership are not merely an emotional symbol; they have their roots in teachings of the Quran and carry the message of standing firm, resistance, and the demand for revenge.”

Khatami further said: “On behalf of the people, I tell the fighters: may you not be harmed; firmly strike the bases of the American enemy.”
