‌🔻While the US continued its airstrikes against Iran for the twelfth consecutive night, Marco Rubio, the country’s Secretary of State, said that Donald Trump wants to look someone in the eye during the standoff.

He said Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, spoke about their policies a few days ago and said that Iran’s [policy] in this standoff is “an eye for an eye”... but the policy of the US president is “a head for an eye.”

On Thursday, Marco Rubio also said in a conversation with reporters on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Manila that the damage Iran will suffer in this standoff “will become heavier every night” until Tehran is prepared to reach “a peace agreement that it will be willing to adhere to.”

These remarks by Marco Rubio are being made while some reports indicate that heavy bombers targeted sites in Iran on Wednesday night.
