Reza Qeytasi, Iran’s representative at the Tribal World Games, won gold in the wood chopping event after defeating his Kyrgyz opponent and claimed Iran’s first gold medal in these competitions.

Qeytasi, who weighs 170 kilograms, reached the top while five gold medals in this discipline had previously been won by Kyrgyz athletes. In the final bout, he defeated the host champion in front of Kyrgyz spectators and took the gold medal.
