🔶 Qatar rejected Iran’s justifications for the attack on its soil
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, while rejecting the justifications and claims of Tehran, stated that missiles of the Islamic Republic targeted non-residential, commercial, and residential areas in Qatar.
The ministry announced on Friday, 4 September (13 Shahrivar), in a statement that two identical letters had been sent in this regard by Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, the permanent representative of the country to the United Nations, to António Guterres and Jérôme Bonafon, who, in an alternating capacity and on behalf of France, currently chairs the UN Security Council.
In the statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Even if the claims of the Islamic Republic are repeated as many times as possible, they cannot provide a legal basis for unjustifiable and illegitimate attacks by Iran against Qatar; attacks that, since 28 February 2026, have targeted non-civilian targets and energy infrastructure with missiles and drones, and constitute a clear violation of Article 2, paragraph 4, of the United Nations Charter and the Geneva Conventions.”
