🔶 Main suspect in Berlin Pride parade attack killed in police operation

The Berlin Senate’s internal affairs office told the German news agency that the main suspect in the vehicle attack on the Berlin Pride parade had been killed during a police operation. According to the German news agency (dpa), the man was shot by police and later died from his injuries.

The attack happened on Saturday night, when a van was driven toward the crowd at the edge of the Berlin Pride parade event.

Alexander Deubrent, Germany’s interior minister, had previously said that a woman was killed and 29 people were injured in the attack, with the condition of some of them reported as critical.

According to Germany’s interior minister, after the vehicle attack, another attack was carried out with a cold weapon, which is believed to have been a cleaver or machete.

Police said that, as of the afternoon, no deaths had been reported among any of the injured.
