🔶 Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps claim it targeted a U.S. naval drone in the Strait of Hormuz

The public relations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement on Sunday, September 6 (15 Shahrivar) that it reported an attack on a remotely guided vessel (naval drone or Sampad) belonging to the United States Army as it entered the Strait of Hormuz.

In the statement, which was published by Iranian domestic media under the title of Statement No. 11, the IRGC Navy claimed that the American vessel intended to enter the “protected area of the Strait of Hormuz,” which was targeted.

The IRGC, in this statement once again, emphasized its control over this strategic waterway and called for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region.

U.S. military officials and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) have not yet responded to the claim by the IRGC.
