🔶 Hegset called the ongoing war against Iran a continuation of the response to September 11
Pete Hegset, the U.S. defense secretary, on Friday described the ongoing war against Iran as part of his country’s response to the September 11, 2001 attacks, and said the Pentagon has always been “fully alert” to “enemies who hate us.”
He said: «Over the past six months, we have inflicted widespread devastation on the world’s biggest state sponsor of terrorism.»
The U.S. defense minister described the Islamic Republic as an “Islamic religious government” which, according to him, has been longing for America’s death for nearly half a century and rejoiced during the September 11 attacks.
Hegset went on to say that the United States continues to “send terrorists to the place they belong—i.e., hell” and “sink tankers to the bottom of the ocean, where they belong.”
He also said the United States will ensure that Iran never gains access to nuclear weapons.
Donald Trump, the president of the United States, also referred to the ongoing war with Iran at the event and called the Islamic Republic “the world’s largest supporter of terrorism.” He too once again stressed that Iran would not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.
