The food strike by about 1,500 inmates sentenced to death at Karaj’s Ghezal Hesar Prison has entered its 13th day. Reports from inside the prison say some of the strikers are experiencing severe physical weakness, low blood pressure, and a reduced level of physical ability.

In recent days, prisoners in Unit 2 of Ghezal Hesar have published videos from inside the ward and chanted the slogan “No to execution,” calling for the suspension of death sentences and a review of policies related to the death penalty.
