🔺Iranian-born mathematician wins the “Abacus Medal”

▪ Shayan Oveis-Qarn, an Iranian-born computer science scientist and a university professor at Washington, has won the 2026 “Abacus Medal” from the International Mathematical Union; an award that is considered the most important global honor for researchers under 40 in the field of theoretical computer science.
