An exciting match between Esteghlal and Persepolis in Isfahan ended in a 1-1 draw.
🔸Esteghlal and Persepolis teams on Wednesday, 11 Shahrivar, in a competition that created many scoring chances at the goals, ultimately settled for a 1-1 draw.
🔸The match was hosted by Esteghlal at Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium in Isfahan. The prolonged repairs at Azadi Stadium have caused these two popular capital teams of Iran to play their recent matches in other cities.
🔸The first half began with a relative advantage for Persepolis, and Ali Alipour, Persepolis’ forward, who had managed to get past Esteghlal’s defenders after a long pass from the defenders, then went one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper and sent the ball out.
🔸In the 37th minute as well, Saaleh Hordadani’s cross, sent by Esteghlal’s captain, went past the goal while Esteghlal’s forward had only a short distance from it but failed to take a shot.
🔸The second half, which the organizers said was held with the presence of 35,000 spectators, was more eventful, and only five minutes later Persepolis opened the scoring for Esteghlal’s goal through Mohammad Mehdi Mahb i, with a shot from behind the penalty area.
🔸Yaser Asani, Esteghlal’s Albanian player, in the 60th minute of the match, equalized with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area. He had also, shortly before that, after a corner delivery, hit the ball against the vertical post of Persepolis’ goal.
🔸In the final half hour of the game, the two Tehran teams attacked each other’s goal several times, but none of them managed to score, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
