According to information provided by an informed source to Iran International, air-traffic control tower staff at airports across the country have, in a coordinated manner, gone on strike from the evening of Tuesday, 24 Shahrivar, to the night of Wednesday, 25 Shahrivar; an action that has caused widespread disruption and several hours of delays to flights. This source, who introduced himself as an employee of an airline company, said that during the strike, after passengers had boarded the aircraft, in some cases the pilots had to wait between half an hour and two hours to receive authorization from the control tower. According to him, even after receiving clearance to start, some aircraft remained on the runway for up to about half an hour waiting for permission to take off. He emphasized that he was present at the airport on Wednesday and said that he considers the matter “completely reliable.”
