🔶 The fourth day of Ali Khamenei’s funeral procession in Qom has ended The fourth day of the funeral procession for Ali Khamenei, the former leader of the Islamic Republic, was held in the city of Qom on Tuesday, July 16. The body of Khamenei, who was killed on Esfand 9, 1404, on the first day of the war between the United States and Israel with Iran, had been placed at the Jamkaran Mosque in Qom for his supporters to bid farewell. Aerial images broadcast by Iran’s state television showed crowds of mourners for the former leader of the Iranian government in the city streets of Qom. A prayer service inside the mosque was held under the leadership of Abdullah Javadi Amoli, a 93-year-old marja and one of the influential figures of Shia clerical establishment in the Islamic Republic. The released images showed a synchronized crowd chanting the slogan "Death to America". Based on the released images, a truck was carrying Khamenei’s body along with his daughter, son-in-law, and bride. Previously, in Tehran as well, a funeral prayer (salat al-mayyit) had been held for Khamenei’s body. The body of the former leader of the Islamic Republic is now expected to be transferred to pilgrimage cities in Iraq for the procession.
