Reuters, citing data from shipping and global trade company «Kpler», said that following the claim by Houthi militants that they attacked a Saudi oil tanker, ship traffic in the Persian Gulf also dropped sharply.

Reuters, announcing a decline in ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, said that on Wednesday, 14 Mordad, only two vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz. One ship carrying coal with a Panama flag entered the waterway, and another ship with a Marshall Islands flag, carrying cargo, exited the strait.

Reuters said that on Tuesday, 13 Mordad, eight ships had passed through this international waterway.

In recent days, Houthi militants, supported by the Islamic Republic, have attacked some ships, including two Saudi ships and one Indian ship, in the Red Sea.

The United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia are among the countries that consider the Houthis a terrorist group.
