🔻 CNN says it was barred from accompanying Donald Trump, the U.S. president, on his Saturday trip to the state of Tennessee in the special aircraft “Air Force One”.
This is the latest development in the standoff between the White House and the media; previously, the White House was forced, by order of a federal judge, to lift restrictions imposed against some news outlets.
CNN was scheduled to take part, along with several other media outlets, in Mr. Trump’s trip to Tennessee to watch a collegiate American football match, but in a note the White House published on Friday evening, the name of this network was not included in the media program list for the trip.
The BBC contacted the White House to request an explanation regarding this issue.
CNN has reported that in the president’s initial schedule, no other media outlet was mentioned as a replacement for this network.
Last week, Mr. Trump barred CNN, Politico, and M.S.N. news outlets from entering the White House and accused them of “fabricating stories” about his administration or “writing lies”.
All three outlets said they would take legal action to defend their rights and accused Donald Trump.
