🗣Your account of the sudden rise in prices and the loss of the ability to plan for the future— Tuesday, 17 Shahrivar:
🔹Last Shahrivar I wanted to buy a motorcycle; it was 140 million and I was short by 40 tomans. I said, “I’ll make it up in one more month.” Now, a year has passed— the motorcycle price has come to 600 million, and I earn a monthly salary of 20 million. ناچاراً با پولم دوچرخه خریدم.
🔹The price of a phone has risen from eight million to 75 million, but my salary has only increased from 13 to 21 million.
🔹We have no outlook for the future. For now, we can only buy essential food items, and even then with saving.
🔹My current phone costs 80 million tomans, but if it needs repair or a part replaced, I have to work for several months to fix it.
🔹I saved up to buy a 60-million phone, but two weeks later its price became 100 million, and I dropped the purchase.
🔹I wanted to buy an expensive phone; by the time I gathered the money, everything had become so expensive that even my current phone ended up being the same price.
🔹My goal in changing houses was actually to reduce expenses and, indirectly, to swap my mobile phone.
🔹We work for three days so that we can have enough food for one day.
🔹I was saving money for my job to buy a 70-million device in one month—it has become 110 million. Two years ago it was 7 million.
🔹I work in construction and building; inflation is so high that after pre-selling, continuing the project becomes difficult.
🔹The sudden changes in prices have made it impossible for me to even plan for tomorrow. I can only think about that day; all my ability is spent on paying installments, checks, and insurance.
🔹With a loan from a bank, I pay the installment of my credit service, and with that same credit I buy food.
