🔻The United Nations says that at least 76,000 people have been displaced in Yemen since the Houthis announced the maritime blockade of Saudi Arabia in July (29 Tir).
According to the UN, as clashes between government forces and Iran-backed Houthi forces have intensified, the number of those displaced in the past week has become four times that of the previous week.
In a report by the International Organization for Migration on the “rapidly deteriorating displacement crisis in Yemen, which is expanding in scope moment by moment,” it warned that “all family members often leave their place of residence during the night, while they have no safe shelters.”
The International Organization for Migration said that these movements and displacements have mainly taken place in the western coast areas and in Taiz province.
According to the agency, Taiz province has been the most affected, and in different parts of the province, about 8,300 households, comprising nearly 50,000 people, have been displaced.
