Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesperson, told AFP that Vladimir Putin has rejected Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal for direct negotiations on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Miami.

Peskov called a bilateral meeting in the United States “impossible” and said Putin is only willing to meet Zelensky in Moscow.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine had said he was ready to take part in the 23 and 24 of Azar summit, provided that the leader of Russia is also present.

At the same time, the Russian foreign minister, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Delhi, and in response to a question about Zelensky’s proposal to meet Vladimir Putin, said: “An invitation has been sent to this person. If he wants to meet, he must come to Moscow.”

Lavrov said that Russia will remain ready for negotiations, but it does not stop the war during the talks.
