Ukraine’s president said his country will not carry out airstrikes during the trip of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the special envoys of the United States, to Moscow and Kyiv, and asked Russia to do the same.
Volodymyr Zelensky, in a speech late Friday, said: “Today it became clear that the United States’ envoys will be in Ukraine and Russia in the coming days. We have the details from the team of the U.S. president.”
Based on Zelensky’s remarks, Witkoff and Kushner will first go to Moscow and then arrive in Kyiv on Sunday.
According to Axios, the two envoys will hold talks with Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Saturday and will meet with Zelensky in Kyiv on Sunday.
This trip is Witkoff and Kushner’s first visit to Kyiv. They had previously traveled to Moscow many times.
