U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in remarks to reporters on the way to Colombia, said the Houthis are “in many respects an agent and proxy of Iran,” adding: “I think it’s very clearly visible that the Iranian government’s hand is behind part of this story.”

Rubio also said the United States has very powerful military and defense ties with Saudi Arabia and has been closely monitoring developments.
