🔺Two Iranian Female Refugee Footballers: We Protested the Government’s Killing of People

▪Two members of Iran’s women’s national football team, who took refuge in Australia, confirmed that their refusal to sing the national anthem at the Asian Cup was a protest against the Islamic Republic.

▪Atefeh Ramazani Sadegh, 34, and Fatemeh Pasandeh, 22, gave their first media interview to the Australian Network 9 program “60 Minutes.” In the interview, broadcast on Sunday, they protested the killing of people by the Islamic Republic.

▪In this regard, Ramazani Sadegh said: “We just wanted to stand by our people. Sometimes I was afraid, but I tried to do the right thing and say that no one should be killed just for protesting.”
