🔶 The number of vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz remains below the average of the past 10 days

Tracking data from the company Kepler shows that the number of cargo-carrying ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday and Sunday (12 and 13 September) fell to fewer than 10 ships per day. This figure is far below the daily average of 14 ships over the past 10 days.

Reuters, citing Kepler, reported that in the last two weekend days only four ships transited through the Strait of Hormuz out of the Persian Gulf, and ten ships also entered. The four vessels leaving the Strait of Hormuz included a non-cargo vessel, a ship carrying LPG, a ship carrying chemical fertilizer, and a tanker carrying crude oil or condensate. The ships entering the Persian Gulf were among those carrying grains, metals, and bulk cargo.

Meanwhile, on Saturday and Sunday, there were 24 and 27 vessel transits, respectively, in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The average number of ship passages through this waterway over the past 10 days has been about 27 ships per day.
