🔻Telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of Qatar and Oman after Oman canceled the meeting on the Strait of Hormuz

The Qatar foreign ministry has announced that Mohammed Al Thani, the country’s prime minister and minister of foreign affairs, held a telephone conversation with Badr Al Bousaidi, Oman’s foreign minister, after Oman canceled its meeting on the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Qatar, during this telephone call, the two sides discussed “cooperation between the two countries and ways to strengthen it, as well as the latest regional developments, especially diplomatic efforts and joint coordination aimed at reducing tension and enhancing security and stability in the region.”

In the call, Qatar’s foreign minister emphasized his government’s support “for all efforts and diplomatic actions aimed at reaching a solution that guarantees freedom of navigation.”

Today, a meeting of regional countries and Iran on the Strait of Hormuz was due to be held, but Oman canceled it, and Iran said that this was due to “requests from some regional countries.”
