🔶 Oman reports postponement of Iran and Arab countries meeting on the Strait of Hormuz
Oman said that a meeting between Iran and the Arab states in the Persian Gulf region about the Strait of Hormuz—which was due to be held on Monday, September 14 (23 Shahrivar) in the city of Salalah, Oman—has been postponed.
Badr Al-Busaidi, Oman’s foreign minister, on Sunday evening, in a post on the X network, called the reason for postponing the holding of the meeting “in line with reaching consensus,” and wrote: “We remain committed to strengthening dialogues that support stability and enduring cooperation in our region.”
The foreign minister of Oman did not provide further details about the reason for postponing the meeting, nor did he announce a new date for it.
In this meeting, the foreign ministers of Oman, Iran, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia were expected to take part. Bahrain had previously announced that it would boycott the meeting and would not attend.
