More than 66% of Iranians are “worried about lack of energy and its rationing”

🔸The head of the opinion polling center, ISPA, said on Sunday, 22 Shahrivar, that based on a national survey conducted by this center, more than 66% of Iranian citizens are worried about lack of energy and its rationing in the country.

🔸Ibrahim Shirali, the head of this center affiliated with the “Jihad of Universities,” said that this survey was conducted by phone across 31 provinces on 10 to 16 Khordad, and based on it “66.1% are to a great extent or very much worried about lack of energy and its rationing.”

🔸He also reported on the shortage and power outages in the country that have occurred in recent years and were also implemented by the Ministry of Energy this summer. According to the survey conducted, “51.4%” of the participants consider “lack of management by officials” as the reason for the “power imbalance.”

🔸Officials of the Islamic Republic use the term “power imbalance” for shortages of energy, including gasoline, electricity, and gas in the country.

The results of this survey were announced while the government of Masoud Pezeshkian has doubled the price of the third ration of car gasoline from 17 Shahrivar and raised it to 10,000 tomans.

The president of Iran has said that, as a result of the United States’ maritime blockade against Iranian ports, the possibility of importing gasoline has been sharply reduced.

🔸This comes as new data from TankerTrackers, the tanker-tracking institute, published on Saturday, shows that over the past 60 days, no cargo of Iranian crude oil has passed through the U.S. maritime blockade line at the border of the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Sea.
