I was deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Senator Lindsey Graham, a loyal friend of the people of Iran and a steadfast defender of freedom.

At times when transparency and moral resolve were needed, Senator Graham stood on the right side. When true friends were rarely found, he stood alongside the people of Iran in their fight against tyranny.

He used his voice so that the voices of those fighting for justice could be heard in centers of power. His support for the Lion and Sun Revolution led many Iranians to know him by the title “Uncle Lindsey.”

His memory will live on with the utmost gratitude and respect.

We extend our deepest condolences to Senator Graham’s family, loved ones, and colleagues, the people of South Carolina, and the people of the United States of America. May he rest in peace, and may others continue the path of the struggle for freedom.
