Iraq’s Security Information Center announced that the reopening of the Shalamcheh, Mandali, and Al-Shayb crossings will be carried out in stages by order of Ali Falah al-Zayidi, the prime minister and commander-in-chief of the armed forces.
According to a statement from the center, the entry of passengers from the Al-Shayb and Shalamcheh crossings will resume from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, 22 Shahrivar.
Trade at the Shalamcheh crossing will resume on Monday, in Mandali on Tuesday, and at Al-Shayb on Thursday.
The statement said the decision was made after reviewing the operating status of the crossings and determining their organizational and technical needs, in a way that strengthens security and keeps commercial flow and citizens’ movement ongoing.
