🔸Iran-backed Houthis said on Sunday, 22 Shahrivar, that with missiles and drones they targeted a military base in southern Saudi Arabia; at the same time, their clashes with the Yemeni government forces have caused the displacement of more civilians.

🔸Yahya Sariʿ, the Houthis’ military spokesperson, said that in this attack the armament depots and command centers of the Sharaʿa base were targeted, but he did not announce the exact timing of the operation or the possible extent of damage.

🔸Yemeni government forces also said on Sunday that they had targeted the Houthis’ positions and barracks with three airstrikes in the Taiz governorate. The Houthis claim that over the past 48 hours, Saudi aircraft carried out 129 attacks on areas under their control.

🔸The fighting has intensified after a week of Houthis’ attacks and the capture of the remaining sections of Yemen’s Red Sea coast and several strategic islands. The group now claims full control over Yemen’s coasts in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and had previously announced a maritime blockade of Saudi ports in the Red Sea.
