ILNA reported that a group of retirees in the cities of Ahvaz, Shush and Rasht, despite the continued heat, held their protest gatherings in front of Social Security offices and demanded immediate attention to their union and livelihood-related demands.

According to this report, the retirees present at these gatherings, pointing out that their current payments are far from covering the crushing costs of living and that their pensions barely cover half of the month, strongly criticized the method of depositing arrears and called it a “drip-by-drip” payment that, after months of waiting, does not alleviate the pain of their empty tables.
