🔸 Hossein Iraqchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held separate phone calls with his Korean counterpart and also with Asim Munir, the commander of Pakistan’s army.

🔸 A Pakistani security official told Reuters that the discussions between Iraqchi and Munir focused on the U.S. and Israel’s war with Iran, the likelihood of a return to negotiations, and the Houthis’ attacks on Saudi Arabia.

🔸 At the same time, South Korea also announced that its foreign minister spoke by phone on Friday, 20 Shahrivar, with his Iranian counterpart about the situation in the Middle East, including freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

🔸 In a statement, South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the talks were carried out at the request of the Iranian side, and in them the two sides “discussed the current situation in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz.”

🔸 Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not released details of the talks, but according to South Korea’s statement, Choo Hyeon, in his conversation with Abbas Iraqchi, expressed “deep concern” about the situation in the region and called for the return of peace and lasting stability.

🔸 He told Iraqchi that South Korea has always supported free and secure navigation for all ships and has participated in international efforts to ensure maritime security.
