🔸Following the trend of rising global oil prices, on the evening of Thursday, 19 Shahrivar, the price of this strategic commodity reached its highest level in three and a half months.
🔸Brent crude oil also rose to 109 dollars and 97 cents per barrel in the U.S. market’s closing transactions, but it fell at the start of Asian market trading and was traded at about 105 and a half dollars per barrel on Friday morning.
🔸U.S. oil prices likewise increased in a similar surge to the vicinity of 105 dollars per barrel, and then stabilized in the 101-dollar range.
🔸Over the past week, oil prices have risen by about 13%. Intensifying the internal war in Yemen and the advance of the Iranian-backed Houthis in taking ports and strategic islands in order to control the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, alongside the group’s missile and drone attacks on Saudi energy facilities, have been among the reasons for the rise in oil prices in recent days.
🔸These developments, alongside the continuation of U.S. and Iran’s attacks on each other, have increased traders’ concerns about continued disruption in the transport and transfer of oil by sea.
