Habib Hosseini-Fard: BRICS has not reached the goals it had when it was founded in 2009

🔸The annual summit of the heads of BRICS member countries was held on Saturday, 21 Shahrivar, in New Delhi. This economic body—whose founders were India, China, Russia, South Africa, and Brazil—has, in recent years, attempted to become an economic and political pole in opposition to Western countries by admitting six other members. Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic, and Abbas Araqchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, are representing Iran at this summit, though some other officials of the government are also accompanying them. Iranian officials have met, alongside the official summit, with leaders of several countries.

Among the heads of the 11 countries present at the summit are, for example, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the presidents of Russia, China, and Egypt, respectively. Radio Farda has interviewed Habib Hosseini-Fard, a political analyst based in Germany, about this.
