🔻Iran Football League Organization, in response to Persepolis, rejected discrimination regarding how teams are handled in the story involving the under-23 national team, and also said that canceling the Premier League matches due to the presence of the under-23 team in the Asian Games was “in the national interest,” adding: “No club enjoys any privileges or restrictions outside the regulations.”
🔹Persepolis Club, in a statement issued the night before, called for punishing teams that had not provided players to the under-23 national team: “If cooperation with the national team is a duty, then this duty must apply to everyone; and if non-cooperation has disciplinary consequences, then now that some clubs, at different times, have refused to cooperate with the under-23 team and have withheld their players, Persepolis expects that the same regulations and the same approach that were announced earlier will be applied without exception.”
🔹Persepolis’ reference is to Esteghlal and Tractor teams, which, because of playing in the AFC Champions League Elite, send their players to the under-23 team camp with delays.
🔹In response, the Disciplinary Committee lifted any responsibility from itself: “The League Organization, in this regard, considers itself obligated to carry out the decisions and official directives of the competent authorities.”
