Fouad Hussein, Iraq’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, his Emirati counterpart, discussed bilateral relations, regional security, and the latest developments in Yemen in a phone call.

Based on a statement by Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides focused on strengthening cooperation between Iraq and the Gulf countries and on preserving regional stability.

Hussein, during the same call, outlined the foreign policy approach of Ali Faleh Al Zaydi, Iraq’s prime minister, and stressed Baghdad’s commitment to prioritizing dialogue and supporting regional calm.

The two ministers emphasized the need to resolve regional differences through peaceful negotiations and to prevent further escalation of tensions.

The call was made during a period when Iraq is under pressure over the case of drone attacks on Saudi Arabia from the territory of this country.
