BRICS, in a joint statement from the New Delhi summit, said it expressed “deep concern over the continued escalation of tensions” in the Middle East and called for “maximum restraint.”

According to this statement, the group warned about deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure and, in particular, nuclear facilities.

The statement also emphasized the need for cooperation to keep the smooth flow of global trade, supply chains, and energy, and raised opposition to sanctions and unilateral tariffs.

A BRICS meeting of foreign ministers in Ordibehesht had ended the fighting without a joint statement.
