Amirhossein Sabbati, a Tehran lawmaker, said that the occupation of some Iranian islands and key areas of the country would be possible only if, beforehand, the transportation infrastructure were damaged, so that the “enemy” could more easily reach its objectives through “separatist groups” or helicopter-borne operations and disrupt the movement of the Islamic Republic’s military forces.
Referring to the end of the World Cup, Sabbati described the days ahead as “very sensitive,” and criticized those, as he put it, who thought that an agreement with the United States would bring the war to an end.
