📸 Photo of the Day: Frankfurt’s Communications Tower Amid Low-Height Clouds

Europe’s communications tower, or “Europaturm,” among low-height clouds and aircraft in the background of the photo. The construction of this 337-meter tower dates back to 1974, and at the time of completion, it was the tallest freestanding structure in West Germany. The upper part of the tower can rotate and offers a panoramic view of the Rhine-Main region. The top part of this structure hosted a restaurant and a discotheque for years, but Europaturm was closed to the public in 1999.
