Payam Faridian, a Bahá'í citizen living in Mashhad, was sentenced to two years in prison by the appeals court. According to information received, the Fifth Branch of the Court of Appeal of Razavi Khorasan Province, by reducing the sentence set in the original ruling, sentenced Payam Faridian to two years in prison. Previously, Branch Two of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad had sentenced this Bahá'í citizen to three years in prison on the charge of “assembling and colluding,” under Article 610 of the Islamic Penal Code. In the appeals stage, this ruling was changed to two years’ imprisonment.
