Mehrdad Jamshidi, an environmental activist, was seriously injured when a landmine left over from the Iran-Iraq war exploded as he was returning from efforts to contain a wildfire in the “Bozineh and Mərkhil” protected area in Kermanshah province.
Our message reported that the incident occurred in the early hours of September 9, 1405. The landmine explosion broke Jamshidi’s left thigh bone and damaged his nerves, blood vessels, and the blood-supply pathway to his leg.
