🔻IRGC says an ultra-large oil tanker in the south of the Strait of Hormuz hit a "mine" and "caught fire"

The IRGC Navy command said in a statement that the “super tanker Al Gaya” hit naval mines on the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz and had an accident.

According to the IRGC Navy statement, “efforts to contain the fire were unsuccessful and the entire tanker was engulfed in flames.”

Iran says that passing through the southern route that Oman has announced and that the United States says it protects is “dangerous” and “illegal.”

In its statement, the IRGC emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is still “blocked.”
