🔻During an air show in Athens, a military aircraft of the Greek army crashed and caught fire in front of thousands of visitors.
According to the ANA news agency, the aircraft was an F-4 Phantom bomber fighter jet.
Two officials told Reuters that the Greek twin-seat F-4 Phantom fighter jet crashed on Saturday during an air show at the Tanagra air base north of Athens, and its pilots were killed.
One of the officials said, “Unfortunately, the two pilots lost their lives,” adding that the Phantom jet crashed about two kilometers outside the airport and that no report had been released of any damage to pedestrians or local residents in the incident.
