🔻Deputy President reacts to the IAEA Board of Governors resolution
The referral of Iran’s nuclear case to the UN Security Council, which was approved a few hours ago during the session of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors, has very quickly met with a sharp reaction from the Iranian government.
Mohammadreza Aref, the first vice president of Masoud Pezeshkian, wrote on social media: “The adoption of a Board of Governors resolution against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, proposed by the owners of atomic bombs, the perpetrators of Hiroshima, and the violators of the JCPOA, is a symbol of the world’s double standards. The Iranian people stand firm on their legal rights and on peaceful nuclear energy as a strategy.”
Iran had warned prior to the adoption of this decision at the Agency that if the case were referred to the UN Security Council, it might review its cooperation with the IAEA.
