🔻Axios: Senior U.S., Israeli military commanders and several Arab countries met in Germany last week
Two Israeli officials told the U.S. website Axios that senior military commanders from the United States, Israel, and several Arab countries met in Germany last week to discuss the war with Iran and broader tensions in the region.
The closed-door meeting was convened on the initiative of Brad Cooper, an admiral and commander of the U.S. Central Command headquarters, and none of the participating countries officially announced it.
Although similar meetings had been held previously, this is the first gathering of its kind since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, more than six months ago.
According to Axios, those present included, in addition to Admiral Brad Cooper, the heads of the Joint Chiefs of Staff or senior military commanders of Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt.
Axios reported that during the meeting, U.S. Army commanders provided the countries of the region with “assurance” that despite Iran’s attacks on U.S. military bases, Washington has no intention of leaving the region.
