🔶 Account by the F-15 crew of the downing of an American fighter in Iran
One of the two crew members of the U.S. F-15 fighter jet that was shot down over Iran in April 2026 has, for the first time, shared details about the crash, two days of hiding in Iran’s mountainous regions, and his own rescue operation.
Both crew members, after the F-15 was damaged, were forced to eject using the aircraft’s emergency escape system.
The report, along with newly released images from a rescue operation that have only recently been declassified, was published by CBS News in the 60 Minutes program.
This American servicemember, whose identity has not been disclosed and who is introduced only by the name “Bravo,” was an officer in the fighter’s weapons systems. The pilot of the fighter has not been willing to take part in an interview.
