The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that in response to U.S. attacks, it targeted 85 military sites of the United States in Bahrain and Kuwait with missiles and drones, and that it shot down an MQ-9 drone. The claim was published by the Islamic Republic’s state-run media, IRIB, and has not yet been confirmed by independent sources or U.S. officials. At the same time, Kuwait’s armed forces announced that the country’s air defenses are responding to “hostile missile and drone attacks.” Bahrain’s Ministry of the Interior also reported that a danger alarm had sounded and asked citizens to go to a safe location.
