🗣Your account: Living conditions under political repression and military tensions — Sunday 25 Mordad
🔹I’m a cattle farmer. Last month I was buying bran through the factory’s door for 25,000 tomans per kilogram. The new price is now 38,000 tomans per kilogram. Nobody is thinking about us—neither the Jihad for Agriculture nor anyone else. We’re being crushed under pressure.
🔹On Saturday, 24 Mordad, I bought some fruit and legumes from the Persian Gulf hypermarket. Its prices were very high. The cashier said you can also pay with Snapp, and I paid in four installments with Snapp and bought on credit.
🔹I have no choice but to work for Snapp. On Saturday, 24 Mordad, with all sorts of hardship, I worked and earned 1,800,000 tomans. My 4-year-old kid wanted something sweet: 357,000 tomans for pastries, one bottle of mayonnaise sauce and half a kilo of pickles for 514,000 tomans; gasoline was 130,000 tomans. In total, it came to 1,000,000 tomans.
🔹I’m a 24-year-old living in Kermanshah. I had a heart and kidney transplant at the same time, and I can’t find transplant medicine for myself. No one is accountable.
🔹With 2,000,000 tomans of the “Kalabarg” (food ration) vouchers, I was able to buy 30 eggs, 3 bottles of milk, one small piece of cheese, one small packet of pasta, and one small jar of tomato paste. How are we supposed to live until the end of the month with these items?
🔹A gifted-children entrance exam (Tizhooshān) test book cannot be found for under 2,000,000 tomans. The cost of its classes and exams also comes to 70,000,000 tomans.
