Yemen’s Houthis release footage showing fighters in Taiz governorate

Yemen's Houthis released footage showing fighters in Taiz governorate's Jabal Habshi district.

Taiz has become a key focal point in the conflict with Saudi-backed forces, which reignited following recent US-Iran Gulf tensions. While government forces recently gained ground near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, Houthis captured Mudiriyat al-Misrakh, 25 km south of Taiz.

Capturing Taiz would significantly strengthen the Houthis, leaving Marib as the government's final northern stronghold 12 years into the war.
